Here is a something a bit different (needed a break from flowers....). It was done as a leather carving practice piece using tattoo flash from the web and still needs a few light adjustments around the eyes. Haven't decided on or if i will color it. Comments welcome.
Here is my latest leather work, its a checkbook cover with bright yellow daffodils and black lacing on the outside, the inside is a dark brown with two pockets for your checks and register. This was my first no kit project( i cut out all the parts) as well as my first with color. The daffodils have more use of a modeling tool than any thing else i have done so far. I'm starting to get the hang of the lacing around the edge, the corners look much better, still not perfect. This doesn't have a home so, it's available if anyone is interested.
This is something i have been working on over the last few weeks. It should be finished in the next few days. I'm about half way done with the leather lacing that goes around the edge. Then i will post the finished wallet with the insides. It has been a learning experience, this being my first big project. I bought this kit and noticed once i was ready to glue the insides in that some of the holes didn't line up and it didn't have a place for credit cards, so it was back to the store where i found a roper wallet insert that i could add in with a little modification. The color was my wife's choice after a few tests on scrape, it looks better in person the sheen makes it hard to get a good pic, i was told that dark brown in a in color right now. I used a block on the flowers and vines so that they didn't take all the color giving me a nice contrast and a almost golden color for them as you can see in the last two pics.
Here is a design that im finishing up, i havent decided if its done or what im going to do with it, i might use the design and change the word like those posters you see, not sure. Im trying to evolve my designs and make them more stunning as i go.
I just received a group of test t-shirts from printfection with my designs on them that i ordered to see how they differ from design to print. The Butterfly Swirl T-shirt above that i ordered for my wife turned out very nice, which was not the case for one of my Tshirts with green fire, its back to the drawing board for green fire! The other fires i have tested have done much better than green, the red or traditional fire looks great. I also had a issue with the kids t-shirt sizes, i cant seem to find one that fits my youngest, so the hunt goes on.
Here is a T-shirt that I started yesterday, I'm thinking of making this into a series with different cars and different colored fire. I have a blue fire ready just need to add cars. Fire never seems to go out of style! Update: same car with Blue Fire
Well this is my latest T-shirt, it a pic I took more than a year ago and just decided play with it today. It different than most t-shirts i have for sale I rarely use a photo as a stand alone design but this one I liked. I did convert it to Black & White and its on both stores. This is the finished book mark for my grandmother, not the normal book mark but i think she liked it. It looks a little darker and better in person, it also has a glossy look to it from the sealer.
Here is a small leather carving project I am working on, its not finished but close, was hoping the sun would come out today and give it some more aging time but looks like mother nature has her own ideas. So tonight i will seal it and add the finishing touches as I am out of time, as it is a gift.
